Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

Internship Opportunities:

Volunteering for direct services is a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate students to spend time observing and interacting with children and victims of abuse and other traumatic events. Internships also allow students to get a feel for how to navigate the inner-workings of a nonprofit agency. We value the opportunity to help others grow and will tailor our internship program to make sure you get the most out of your internship with us.

Direct Services Volunteers:

The primary role of our direct service volunteers is to make our children and families feel safe and comfortable while visiting our agency. Volunteers greet and welcome these child clients and their non-offending family members to our center.  Volunteers provide supervision for clients in a child-friendly setting and interact appropriately with families to provide comfort and support while maintaining client confidentiality.

Direct services volunteers must be available for shifts only when there is a child scheduled to visit the agency, so some flexibility is necessary. Shifts are during the week (Monday - Friday) between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Indirect Services Volunteers:

Childrenz Haven has many needs outside of direct client services. Volunteers provide a variety of support for our agency including:

  • Community Education and Prevention

  • Special Events and Fundraising

  • Administrative and Maintenance Support

Volunteers sign up for events and activities throughout the year. Events can be during the week, after hours, or on weekends. Events can include staffing community events, Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, and seasonal fundraisers.
